Programme: H. Schütz: St. John Passion

Today, Heinrich Schütz is considered the most important German baroque composer of the 17th century, i.e. of the pre-Bachian times. He was mostly active in the Saxon Dresden, which became a true capital of music during his times. In his spiritual compositions, he managed to interconnect the beauty of Italian operas with the strict Lutheran liturgy.
